Join Our PTA

15th Oct 2018

Hello and a Warm Welcome to St John the Baptist’s Parents & Guardians

I am delighted to inform you that we are about to launch our PTA for St John the Baptist’s College. Whether you’re new to SJBC or you have been with us for a while, there are many reasons for joining us.

Enjoy the Benefits.
The number-one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school.

Get Connected.
There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

Tap into a Network.
Parenting is not easy—it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.

Speak Up.
Because the PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.

Witness Improvement.
By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events—all vital to a school’s success.

Be a Role Model.
By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

Our first PTA meeting will take place on Wednesday 24th October at 6pm. We would like our PTA to play a vital role in the promotion of the college and fundraising for vital resources, to support the curriculum, in the college. All input and help is greatly appreciated from the parents.

As a PTA we are hoping to organise various social, formal and informal events. Our events will be fun and entertaining, family friendly and, of course, are all fund raisers! The more people we have on this fantastic team, the less everyone will have to do.

If meetings are difficult to attend, then you can still support us by being one of our ‘Happy Helpers’.

How do I get involved?

If you feel you can spare any time at all, please contact Mrs McKeever

Thanking you, in advance, for your support.
