Attention all P7 Pupils and Parents- Notice re Transition/Application Process 2022
Dear Parent/Carer,
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the very best in the year ahead.
We are regretfully unable to hold our annual Open Day event which is a key element of our transition process, due to the ongoing risks from the Omicron variant. However, some of the children from our local feeder schools joined us for a Taster Day in early December and had an opportunity to familiarise themselves with key staff and they were able to engage in a range of inter-active activities across a plethora of different departments. The pupils were an absolute credit to their schools and to you their families.
At that time, we had advised the pupils of our Open Day and of a visit that we usually make to their primary school in January. However, due to increased mitigation measures, we are unable to offer either at this time. Instead we would like to invite you to visit our bespoke Transition Site which is located on our main school website-
https://www.stjohnthebaptistcollege.co.uk/transition-368
This portal has been specifically designed to inform parents and prospective new pupils of details which may be pertinent to their decision making when choosing the right school for the child. In addition, we would signpost you to our raft of social media platforms which give a flavour of daily life in St John the Baptist’s college (please see our Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram accounts).
In this folder you will also find a flyer for your perusal. Furthermore, we are offering individual guided tours for any parent and child who may be unfamiliar with the college or who may have very specific requirements which they wish to discuss with designated post holders within SJBC.
Should any parent wish to have a private tour of the school with their child, this can be arranged by contacting our Primary School Liaison teacher, Mrs B. Leathem @ bleathem916@c2kni.net, or they can call 07783616052, leaving a contact number and we will return all calls as quickly as possible. Alternatively, parents can contact the main school office on 02838334725.
Again, please accept our sincerest apologies for having to cancel both our Open Day and our primary school visits, we were really looking forward to welcoming you into our school and to meeting the boys and girls once more and enabling you both to gain further insight into all that St John the Baptist’s College has to offer.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us as we would be very happy to assist you and your child during this very important stage of their educational journey.
Kindest regards
Mrs Noella Murray (Principal)
Mrs Brenda Leathem (Primary Schools Liaison Officer)
