ST JOHN THE BAPTIST’S COLLECE UNIFORM INFORMATION FOR PARENTS 1 General Guidelines: School uniform must be worn on all occasions, in a manner which is neat and tidy. Please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly marked and that your child/children adhere(s) to uniform regulations. In the interests of health and safety, the heels of Girls’ shoes should be no higher than 1.5”/3.75cm. Blazers must be worn at all times except when in the classroom. Top buttons, ties and blouses must be worn correctly. Hair must always be clean, neat and tidy: unnatural hair colours/extensions are not permitted. Pupils should always endeavour to have a high standard of personal appearance and pay particular attention to personal hygiene. Breaches of uniform will be dealt with by the form teacher. Persistent breaches of uniform will result in pupil being placed in After-School Detention by the Year Head. Uniform checks will be carried out daily by form teachers and periodically by the Head of Year and by members of Senior Management. Class teachers will also check uniform and record those pupils whose uniform is unacceptable. 2 Specific Requirements: All students must have: School blazer with crest School clip-on tie with crest Blue polyester shirt/blouse Girls Navy/tartan knee length school skirt Navy tights Plain black leather shoes (not slingbacks, mules, canvas shoes, trainers or boots) Boys Navy school trousers (not ‘skinny fit’) Navy or black socks Plain black leather shoes (not trainer’s canvas shoes or boots) PE Uniform Royal blue shorts Royal blue/yellow sports shirt with crest Trainers, football books, swimwear Royal blue sports socks Optional: Black or navy overcoat. No outdoor clothing may be worn inside the school building. Make-up: No make-up, including nail varnish, is deemed inappropriate and is therefore forbidden. Fake tan is deemed inappropriate and should not be worn. Jewellery: Girls may wear only one pair of small stud earrings in earlobe only, and a watch. No jewellery to be worn by boys. Facial and tongue jewellery is forbidden.
